"Legal, Decent, Honest, Truthful". But isn't this Politics?

You may well be familiar with the maxims of the UK Advertising Standards Authority, that adverts should be "Legal, Decent, Honest, Truthful".  This applies to commercial businesses.   For the protection of the public.

Sadly the same does not apply to political advertising.  It was reported that the main parties blocked proposals, for a number of reasons.  These included that any complaint would have to be reviewed in far tighter timescales than is reasonably feasible.  The reasons are here.

That doesn't mean that political parties and campaigns, such as the Leave and Remain camps for last year's referendums, should ignore these standards. The ASA were not impressed last June!

It is The Just Political Party's policy to comply in spirit with the ASA's principles.  If you disagree with something, contact us and we will investigate rapidly.  If necessary, we will retract and replace.

We challenge other parties to do the same!
